Hey everyone! I'm Grant, an LA based writer/artist and long time friend of GSS. Welcome to the start of a new blog series for the website that will be published in addition to the Love Letter every week. Get Some Sleep is so important to me, and I'm excited to share the brand's past, present, and future evolution with all of you here. We'll be going through the daily minutia and interesting projects that happen every day in the operation of the brand.
This week we’ve got the start of an all new youtube series launching called “the shop”. It’s going to come out every week in conjunction with the blog as sort of an accompaniment to the written text version. A few years ago, I worked as a video editor for other youtube channels so I thought this would be the perfect addition to our content to really bring you guys along for the ride of what we do every day at the shop.
Our friend Marlon is working as the camera operator for the first video, and hopefully many more into the future. We’d love your feedback on the format and thoughts on what we should do in the future to make it even more enjoyable. There’s a lot of ideas we’re floating on options, but I think the next few months are going to be extremely busy and give us a lot of flexibility.
This week we’re diving into the processing of producing and shipping mystery tees which took the better part of two days. We’re also digging into receiving a huge shipment of zippy’s and how we got those out to you guys- making thank you cards and much more.
We hope you like the relaxed style of the video as it’s completely unscripted and just whatever came to us in the moment. Next week we’ll be doing a little more to introduce the team to everyone and start getting into the prep work we’re doing for the upcoming New York Fashion Week showing in February.
